You have to see these, the pictures do not do them justice. So georgous!!. The wood square pumpkins have glitter on them and the big one stands 11 1/2 inches tall. They are spectacular. Set of two is $35.50. I wish I could do them justice, the attention to detail they have done is amazing. If you only buy one Halloween decoration this year....One of these new items should be it.

The Halloween Tree is well over a foot tall, it also features glitter, black feathers, and beautiful extras. Well worth the effort to stop by and look at. Email me if you have any comments or questions.

Thanks so much to all of you who donated knitted squares for charity. I have one more package to get ready and mail off and then I will have to end the collection. The price of shipping the packages is just getting too much. Please continue to make squares and ship them if you can, all the information is one their website. Thanks so much. I have really enjoyed doing this. Together we send well over 300 squares.

Knitting for Charity

Our newest and biggest contributor to our Knitting for Charity Project is Karlie.

She has been so great and loves this project. She has now completed 83 plus squares. Isn't that so fabulous. Karlie is involved in the special needs mutual program and has almost completed her award. She will be 41 years old next month. When she was just a baby she was diagnosed with a serious heart problem and wasn't suppose to live to be a year old. She has been to special doctors and her health problems have also included her lungs now where she is on oxygen. As a baby she was deprived of oxygen which caused some mental delays. She is just the sweetest most special young woman.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this effort. This will be ongoing and I will send the squares whenever we fill up a box. To find out more information about this you can go to http://www.knit-a-square.com/knittingforcharity-ezine.html

Thank you so much to Gayle Ferguson and Barbara Porter for being our winning Charity Knitting Block donators. Each of these great ladies donated 22 squares this week. (Yes, this means Barbara has donated a total of 44 squares). I am struggling along with my 4 squares donated so far. But I am having fun learning and playing with new stiches.

Please comment on this post or contact me if anyone is interested in having a stitch of the week or month knitting class. We can do more advanced stitches or start with a beginners class. I think this would be fun if anyone is interested.

Knitting For Charity

I have decided to donate to the Charity "Knitting for Charity". They take 8X8 inch knitted or crocheted block donations to create wonderful warm blankets for the orphans left from the Aids epidemic in Africa. I am so excited about this project and I love to knit so it is a perfect fit for me.

If you would like to help, please drop off your 8X8 inch squares anytime. Needful Things will pay all the postage to get the blocks to the ladies in Africa who put the blocks together. If donating a block please leave a yarn tail on your project of 3-4 yards for sewing the blocks together. Any stitch or pattern is accepted. They love to get wool blocks but will take anything. If using thin yarn, please use two strands so the blankets will be warm'

Together we can truly make a difference in a child's life. Once I get a few blocks in I will post them on this blog. I am also offering knitting classes if you would like to learn the basics of knitting. Please contact me for information.

Featured here is a red and black necklace and bracelet set, absolutely stunning.

The picture does not do it justice. Each red bead is wrapped with tiny silver dots.

Rebecca handcrafts her Lampwork Beads by hand. Melting and forming glass in a 1600 degree flame. The glass used in made in France, Germany and Czechoslovakia.

All beads are Kiln annealed for strength and quality.

Opening a Boutique

This week has been very busy, frustrating and hectic but in the end very rewarding. I have just opened up my "mini boutique", Needful Things. I have so many creative friends and I just love everything they do so it has been wonderful to combine all of this creativity and talent in one place, which is my in-home boutique. We just had our grand opening and the response was overwhelming. I plan to keep this store open year round. Currently we will be open every Thursday except Holidays 10am to 7pm. Everyone is also welcome to come look around anytime I am home. Just call and let me know you are coming and make sure that I am home. We keep getting more ideas and new items it is so fun.
